MORE THAN 800 ROCK THE HOUSE!
The internationally-acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors visited Plentywood for a game at The High School Gymnasium on October 23, 2013 where they competed against our local team of celebrities: “The Plentywood Chasers” ! Click Here to view pictures of the event.
The Ambassadors set themselves apart from other “Harlem-style” basketball teams by working with local not-for-profit and service organizations and holding Harlem Ambassadors shows as community fundraising events. For Plentywood’s event the Ambassadors partnered with The Plentywood Education & Alumni Foundation (PEAF) to help raise funds for a portable computer lab for the High School.
“It feels good to be able to provide quality entertainment and create memories that the fans will take with them,” PEAF Executive Director, Kordelia French explained. “We’re able to give even more when we can help provide funding for innovative teaching projects for our teachers and students such as a new portable computer lab for the Plentywood High School, and that feels great. A sincere thanks to all who helped make this such a successful event!”
MYSTERY ON THE PRAIRIE SOLVED!
Over 100 Suspects, Witnesses and Guests joined efforts to find out “Who Done It” during PEAF’s Mystery on the Prairie, January 27th. Winner of Best Detective was Marcella Hjort and runner-up was Chad Peterson! Guilty verdict was given to Katherine Woods (widow of murdered man) played by Chelsea Rathie and Linda Ator.
Following are the other winners of the night:
Best actor - Joe Embler (Todd Johnson - runner-up)
Best costume (male) - Marv Eberling (Rick Knick-runner-up)
Winner of the $1,000 diamond earrings was Denise Heppner!
The PEAF Board would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended, donating their time and resources to the foundation! Your flair and involvement overwhelmingly contributed to the wild, wild west ambience of this mystery event! Thanks to you we raised $6,000 which will be directed toward the Great Ideas Grant Program for innovative projects for students K-12 of the Plentywood School. We would also like to thank Al Gober for his hospitality and Todd DeSilva and his sensational crew for their seamless effort to keep the crowd happy, as well as for the deliciously scrumptious old western style meal!
